Love in the First Degree at Micke’s Place
Micke declares his bar a ‘Love Lane’ as an unmissable signpost that hovers over the establishment states. Though we aren’t sure how much ‘love’ you can score, we can be sure you’ll be in love with their generosity with alcohol. If you aren’t a lightweight, go straight for the Long Island Tea.

The Peranakan Touch at Chulia Court
The décor at Chulia Court The Tavern celebrates the vibrant and colourful Peranakan culture that Penang is proud of. The eclectic blend of European and Chinoiserie elements present a truly local ambience where you’d go – why not – since you are in Penang. This restaurant/bar is set in a shophouse on one of George Town’s busiest streets. Later at night, it also transforms into a nightclub where you can get sloshed in a classy way.

Cocktail MishMashes Anyone?
Located on Muntri Street is Mish Mash, a modern bar helmed by bartenders Ben and Simon who have won over customers with their mixes. They seem to have found the ingredients to their drinks that convince cocktail connoisseurs to pay that little extra at their water hole. Try Moscow Mule or Bahama Mama to judge for yourself. The best times to head down would be on Thirsty Thursdays where you can get two cocktails for the price of one.

No Beach but There's Beats
They might have chosen the name to lure the ladies even though they are really half a mile away from the beach, but if that didn’t work, the Ladies’ Nights on Thursdays sure does. This crowded bar is a good place to end up if you want company for your dancing to DJ Christy’s music and if you’ve just finished dinner on Penang Road.
