Thian Hock Keng Temple is also known as the "Temple of Heavenly Happiness", is the oldest Buddhist Temple in Singapore. The temple is dedicated to Mazu, Goddess of the Sea, for early Chinese immigrants to give thanks for the safe journey across the South China Sea. A fun fact is that the intricate design of the carvings and sculptures of dragons, phoenixes and dieties was done without using a single nail.
